I am always on the lookout for a good under-eye concealer. I have these ugly, extremely dark circles under my eyes and it is one of the things that I feel most insecure about. I blame my bloodline for it (haha) because it runs in my family. My dad has it, my brothers have it, my younger sister has it but not the same level of intensity as mine. Theirs are okay. Mine are just downright evil… evil I tell you! LOL.
Drugstore or premium brands, I don’t really care as long as it can cover my ridiculously dark under circles and I’ve been wanting to try more Korean skin base things, so on my second-to-the-last purchase from Althea, I decided to get the Witch’s Pouch Selfie Perfect Concealer. It had pretty good reviews and I liked the powder foundation from the same brand so I was hoping the concealer would be good as well.
The packaging was meh – not really new or exciting. It’s like a pen that you click on one end and the product will come out through the brush applicator on the other end but as I mentioned in my previous post, I really don’t like this kind of packaging/applicator for concealers and skin base products. I find that it’s rather wasteful and very unsanitary.
As for the formula, it was a letdown too. I found it a little drying, and the coverage was just not there for me. It ended up making my under eye area look ashy gray instead of the usual dark brown. I don’t know if that’s better or worse… all I know is that it’s not a good look. Trust me. I find that this concealer works nicely for covering blemishes, but as an under-eye concealer, errr… no. For me, an under-eye concealer needs to have great coverage, does not crease and offers great value for money. Bonus if it has brightening properties. If it doesn’t do that, then it’s not worth my money.
All in all, the Witch’s Pouch Selfie Perfect concealer was a let-down. The only thing I like about it is the price (Php220 is an awesome price for skin bases) but not much else. I was hoping this would be my new favorite Korean concealer but I guess that means I have a reason to continue the hunt for the best Korean-brand concealer, no? *wink wink*
