Glossier Coconut Balm Dot Com Review

I don’t really recall where I first heard of Glossier but the brand has been on my radar since I think maybe last year or early this year. Their line seemed very different from the “over the top make up” trend and I loved that. I would always look forward to their releases and while I was quite intrigued, I didn’t feel like it was worth purchasing overseas for or getting the products from third-party sellers – which if you are from the Philippines, you would know that that means spending 1.5 to 2 times the original price or dealing with asinine shipping fees/issues.

Back in August though, my friends and I were at a cafe when a friend took out her Glossier Balm Dot Com. I asked her what she thought of it and she kindly let me try the product. The variant she had was the Cherry one – which I am not too crazy about to be honest, I am just not a fan of Cherry-anything at all… but oh wow it felt amazing on the lips. Very thick but not icky, and my lips felt properly moisturized. I thought, “Oh hey, yeah, it’s cool, I like it”. The clincher though was how my lips felt the morning after. It felt so supple and soft – even after brushing my teeth the night before and tossing and turning in bed! I was floored. I knew I had to get one for myself and I knew exactly what variant to go for… COCONUT (if you know me in real life, I love coconut-scented skincare things from shower gels to shampoos and conditioners).

I scoured the internet for local sellers who had the Coconut Balm Dot Com on hand and ready to ship that was priced fairly. Lucky for me, Belles Oniomania had a couple of Balm Dot Coms available and the Coconut “flavor” was in stock. It was also priced reasonably well at Php750 (plus shipping).

I love the box – so pretty and pleasing to the eye. The squeeze tube is also really nice because it’s simple, functional and sanitary!
Every time I put this on, I am reminded of my childhood. I don’t know why, but it just takes me back to when I was a little girl. It smells a lot like Danish Cookies, which I love. Not too strong, it’s the kind of scent that will not give you a headache.
It doesn’t taste like anything. As for the texture, it feels a lot like petroleum jelly but a bit more emollient and a lot more pleasant.

I definitely recommend this if you like thick, emollient lip balms. It smells great, it feels amazing and for me, it works! If you have really dry, chapped lips, this might be the answer. If you wear a lot of matte lipsticks, this would be a great overnight treatment so your lips can recover. Or if you just love lip balms in general, this is definitely worth looking into! Oh and since the holiday season is upon us, this would also be a great gift for anyone – from beauty newbies to beauty addicts!
