Embrace The Sun – A Giveaway! #EmbraceTheSunwithNS

One of the things that I used to look forward to when I was young were our family summer trips. We would often get together with my mom and dad’s friends and go to the beach. We’d load up our van, prepare our sandwiches for the road, we’d go to the grocery to stock up on chips and drinks, and as soon as we get to the beach, it becomes a test of patience because our parents wouldn’t let us dive in to the waters immediately. We had to change into our swimming gear, pile on loads and loads of sunscreen and wait for an adult to accompany us. At the time it definitely felt like torture, especially the sunscreen bit because hello – I just want to feel the sand on my feet and the salt water on my skin – it was a challenge to stand still while I had sunscreen slathered on me haha.

These days though, I find myself more and more concerned about my skin and my hair – two elements that take a beating whenever summer rolls in and summer getaways abound. I always stock up on sunscreen, a hair oil of some sort to stop my hair from drying out and an insect repellent haha! I have a few getaways planned with friends and family for the summer so I’ve been preparing my summer kit – and while I was doing so, I thought hey, why not share these with my readers? YES guys, I am giving away a set of products which I think are essential for any summer getaway (or even to use everyday, given our tropical summer heat haha)! Included in this giveaway are the following:

EmbraceTheSunwithNS Giveaway NinaSinganon.com summer giveaway 2017

Sowell Dry Hair Comb

I hate walking around with dripping wet hair at the beach haha, that’s why when I saw this, I thought this would be perfect for all of you beach babes – it says the microfiber hair brush will shorten your hair’s drying time.

Skin Genie Healthy Sunscreen with Insect Repellent, Mousturizer and SPF75

While I do love a good tan, I am afraid of the damage the sun causes on our skin. It’s important to always apply sunscreen and this is great because it works as a insect repellent too! You can stay out at night, have a romantic stroll along the coast (yihee) or party the night away without having to worry about insects biting you!

Beach Born Sunset Spray

We should always take care of our crowning glory – split and frayed ends are a no-no; and frizzy and dry hair is not nice to look at! Spray this to protect your hair from the heat and sunlight!

Farmstay It’s Real Aloe Gel Mist

After a couple of hours at the beach, this refreshing face mist is definitely going to be a treat! I sometimes keep mine in the fridge so it’s extra cooling and I have been loving it.

Sooperbeaute Lip and Cheek Rolly in Darling

I think when you are at the beach, it is best to go with minimal make up and give your skin a chance to breathe. I thought a lip and cheek tint would work really well and this one from Sooperbeaute is easy to use, very pigmented and lasts a good number of hours!

Blue Floral Travel Pouch

Of course, you’ll need somewhere to put all of these in so I am also giving away this really nice, very helpful/functional travel pouch. I have a few of these – one in the car, one for my planner supplies and one that I use as a medicine bag and I am sure you will like this as much as I do!

My favorite summer memory is the way how I always see the summer as a child. I remember my 8-year old self counting down days for my summer break, and certainly, my excitement day by day is beyond compare! It will always remind me of my little self as to how I picturesque summer as my playing season. And though the pavement is genuinely too hot to walk in during these months, I will always miss the idea of my childhood days, by which my favorite experience during summer is the way how I brace myself into playgrounds, elating my random self with the swings and slides with the enjoyable company of my playmates just because the school is out. And just like every child who played larong Pinoy, those moments are the things that makes me fall in love with summer!!! Indeed, good memories float in the chest touch of summer glee.

(that’s why I’m soo excited and nervous, too.?)?✈ We travel to Coron in Palawan. I was amazed with the place itself, enjoying each moment especially island hopping, swimming, the foods and all. It was really an unforgettable summer moment of my life.????

Summer during my childhood days used to be my favorite. Going home to my mom’s birth province, seeing all my cousins, making “mano” to every elderly people around, climbing up every fruit bearing trees (mangga, siniguelas, kaimito) then sliding down a bamboo which often rips my shortpants. haha!
Now I am older and in a relationship. I look forward to summer memories created with him. We’d go on motorcycle roadtrips to provinces. The very first looooong ride I experienced was when we went to Ilocos! That was 15 hours on the road until we reached Pagudpud. Tiring but awesome. Believe it or not, long rides makes us more relaxed. Maybe because of the beautiful scenery. The rice paddies, corn fields, tobacco plants.. I don’t know. Summer and long rides has been a favorite thereafter. 🙂

I grew up in Pampanga where summer for us is all about Holy week. I remember when me and my friends was in grade school and watch out for the devotees carrying their cross and follow them through their “stations” under the burning heat. We don’t mind and don’t even bother then to protect our skin against the harmful rays of the sun. And today, I am doing my best to protect my skin because I realized how important it is in boosting my confidence.

When I was a child, I loved spending the entire day outside playing childhood games like patintero, chinese garter, etc and, riding bikes, going to the neighborhood swimming pool, and chasing the ice cream truck for bomb pops every day. I would stay outside until the crickets started chirping and then knew it was time to go inside. The feel of the sun on my face, ice cream dripping down my chin, and a refreshing dip in the pool represent the very best of summer to me.

When we were younger, our family would go to the beach at 100 islands almost every summer. We would Ride on a bus for 4 to 6 hours, get on a banca and stay overnight on one of the islands. I love to swim and eat grilled food like we are on a boodle fight. We would really get so tanned that even if we put on sunscreen, our skin is so burned. In some summer when we donlt go to the beach, we would love to make ice candy or halo halo and enjoy the hot afternoon.

My favorite summer memory was in 2013 when my family became complete for the first time in years. My siblings and I were all busy with our own work and family so we could hardly spend time with our parents. We decided to go to Pansol, Laguna and a full day of fun at one of the private resorts there. It was a very valuable experience for us because we realized that we should be spending more and more time together. Since then, our whole family regularly meet and go out for dinner together at least once in 2 months. 🙂

Well, It was just last year when we had our family summer vacation. All of us were happy because cebu is well known when it comes to wonderful islands. I was with my cousins when we decided to swim on a beach but we were out of money by that time so we decided to search for a beach that won’t cost a large amount of money, I don’t know what was the name of the beach that we went. It was beside the pantalan and all of us were taking off our clothes and jumped into the sea right away, we were laughing and enjoying our moment because even the sun was out and our skin burned, that didn’t stop us to keep on swimming. The funny part is, We were just like the other kids who doesn’t care about the place that were going because the important thing for us is to enjoy the summer vacation and make a memory that would last for a lifetime. Anyway, thank you ate Nina for giving me a chance to join this. Have a nice day and God bless ???
