Benefit Holiday 2014: Cheeky Sweet Spot

I am telling you – Social Media can both be a good and a bad thing. For one, it allows you to connect with people easily, wherever in the world they are and you also get to take an inside look at how people live their lives. But it can also be bad because it makes you want so many things that you don’t necessarily need. Case in point, me and my unplanned purchase of the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot holiday cheek palette.

I think these holiday kits are great value for money and I believe Benefit is one of the first ones to come out. I knew I wanted to check out the Cheeky Sweet Spot kit because I’ve always wanted to try Benefit’s powder blushers so I stalked Benefit PH’s Instagram account and found out that they had an ongoing preview sale in select branches that weekend (October 18 to October 19) – Greenbelt being one of them – and because I was going to Makati on the 18th, I decided to check it out. Long story short, I ended up walking out of that store a little bit poorer but definitely a lot happier.

The kit comes with 7 cheek products – 6 blushers – Hoola, Dandelion, Coralista, Bella Bamba, Rockateur and Sugarbomb and their Watts Up! cream highlighter. The powders range between 4 to 6 grams per product, which is less than the boxed/individual versions of these powders but hey, you get to try 7 products for a little over the price of one!

Dandelion 4.0g Net wt. 0.14 oz.
Sugarbomb 6.0g Net wt. 0.21 oz.
CORALista 5.0g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
Bella Bamba 5.0g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
Hoola 5.0g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
Rockateur 5.0g Net wt. 0.17 oz.
Watt’s Up! 1.5 g Net wt. 0.05 oz.

Another thing that I like is that the cream highlighter, Watts Up!, has it’s own plastic container. Not only is it cute but it keeps your cream product clean and powder free.

It also comes with a tiny blush brush, which works quite well. I probably won’t use this because I prefer to use a full-on blush brush, but this would definitely work if you are in a pinch.

The only downer for me is the packaging. I am not a huge fan of the design – it’s a little too Christmas-y and not as classy as I would have liked. I think they went overboard with the Christmas theme on this one, I would have preferred something simpler and not tacky. And while I do appreciate that the tin box ensures the products inside wouldn’t easily break, it is quite bulky with lots of unnecessary parts! I almost didn’t get it because of this reason.

Price-wise, I think it is amazing. You get to try 6 different powder blushers and a cream highlighter for the price of 1 product. Now I don’t have to buy each powder blush separately just to see if I like it or not. I don’t have to pay full price just to try a product. *two thumbs up*

If you are interested in the Cheeky Sweet Spot palette or any of Benefit’s holiday kits, I believe they are going to be available in Benefit stores nationwide by November 3. They have a collection of lip stuff, skincare, eye products, an advent calendar that features a number of Benefit’s best sellers and a whole lot more. 🙂

Waah I wanted this too but same reason, not such a fan of the packaging. I’m thinking that if I’m gonna buy this, I would need to buy an empty palette to depot them. But I think they are now sold out, and only few pieces left in MOA, I’m still confused whether to get it or not since I’m currently addicted to Inglot cosmetics and 1,900 means 4 blushes already from Inglot hahaha, I’m 100% with the internet influence esp to us beauty enthusiasts. sometimes I no longer want to browse instagram because of the temptation :))

Ha ha ha yes, I am now debating whether I should depot/debox (LOL) them to a Z Palette or a Wild Peach Palette. 🙂
