This Just In: GirlStuff Forever Nail Varnishes

posted in: Beauty, Nails | 2

I’ve been seeing a bunch of beauty bloggers and nail enthusiasts gush about the nail polishes from GirlStuff Forever. It’s touted to be free of harmful chemicals that cause yellowing and brittleness of the nails. I’ve always wanted to try them but the store nearest to us is in Mall of Asia. I very rarely go to MOA – I only go there if there’s an event I have to attend at the SMX or if I need to get doggie stuff from PetExpress so I haven’t had a chance to check out their kiosk until this weekend when my sister, nephew and I attended the Smart Kids Asia event.

I had a short list of the colours that I wanted to try. I was sure I was going to get the shade Sophia, and I was also dead set on getting Twilight. I also wanted to try their fast-dry topcoat to see if it would work as well as my favourite Orly SecNDry top coat.

When we got there, oh was I overwhelmed. They had a LOT of colours ranging from neutrals to brights to duo chromes to shimmers. I wasn’t very interested in the duo chromes and the shimmers since I no longer like the look of those, but I spent quite a bit of time looking at their other products. I finally decided on getting 5 things from them to try – Sophia, Grace, Marilyn, Twilight and the Fast Dry Topcoat. They were priced at PHP100.00 each (with the exception of the Top Coat, priced at PHP150.00), which I think is a fair price provided that they apply nicely and do not chip after one friggin’ day.

I haven’t used any of these except to try and swatch, but so far, I like it. Sophia and Grace are beautiful neutrals, Marilyn is a sophisticated medium deep red and Twilight, well it’s a vampy black. Marilyn and Twilight were super easy to apply, while Sophia and Grace required a bit of work, which is almost always the case with lighter shades – at least in my experience.

With the wide range of shades they have, I am definitely going back to get more. I am eyeing Diana which is a nice blue shade, and maybe a true red, their white and a deep warm brown. Now the only question is, when will I have the inclination to brave the traffic and go back to MOA. HAHA!

GirlStuff Forever MOA is near the cinemas and somewhat near Charles and Keith. Prices range between PHP100.00 to PHP150.00. You can also order online I believe – check their website at www.GirlStuffForever.com
