Tangle Teezer Compact Styler

1406318477895A few years ago, I saw an odd looking hair brush in Suesh Alabang. It was pink and it looked like a bean. It was called the Tangle Teezer and I’ve never seen anything like it before, so I became curious that I looked past the price tag and picked it up. I think it was Php400 or thereabouts, if I remember correctly, which to be honest is way more than I would spend on a hair brush considering that I often misplace mine but it was new, it was cute and I had extra money to spend so I just went for it. I was so happy I did because I loved it.

Fast forward to a few months later, a good friend of mine (hello again, BB!) and I met up for drinks and as always, I showed her my most recent well-loved finds. She tried “the bean”, loved it and I never got it back. LOL. Since we were celebrating something – maybe it was her birthday, I don’t remember – I decided to let her have my pink bean. I was thinking I’d just get another one when I went to Suesh. Ohhh man, I went back multiple times but I never saw it again. *insert tear jerking sounds here*

I thought I’d never get my hands on “the bean” aka the Tangle Teezer again. I was a little bummed but hey, it was just a hair brush and after a while, I got distracted by boar bristle hairbrushes that I completely forgot about “the bean”… until last week.

I was doing my usual rounds in the beauty department of The Landmark Makati and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that they had the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler and in multiple colors/designs too! The last time I was there, I saw three designs – the Silver Chrome, Gold Rush and Feline Groovy. I originally wanted to get the gold, but I checked all the stock and the gold ones on display had scratches, so I got the silver instead. As I was walking away, I kept thinking, “Should I get a back up or no, get a back up or no?”. So I went back and got myself the leopard print one (pictured here) as well. #hoardertendecies LOL! I ended up keeping the silver for back up.

The price was amazing – they were selling these for Php199.00 (approx $5) a pop! Still a bit pricey, but definitely better than Php400.00 (approx $10). If they had other designs, I would have gotten another one to keep in my travel bag.

Here’s a quick copy-pasted info from the WWW for you folks –
Tangle Teezer Compact Styler is a compact hairbrush specifically designed to detangle wet and dry hair with minimal damage. The revolutionary Tangle Teezer is now available in a handbag friendly, compact size!

I was so happy that I got my hands on the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler again. I love it because it detangles wet and dry hair effortlessly! Since I’ve experimented with my hair for the last three years, I need to be extra gentle when I brush my hair and I actually try to limit the brushing that I do because I feel that the process just pulls and tugs at my hair, but with this tool, it just makes hair brushing a nice, painless, worry free experience. I’m telling you, this definitely belongs in my top 10 beauty items/tools. If you have brittle hair or if you find yourself dealing with tangles all the time, or if you just want to take extra care of your crowning glory, this is perfect.

Another thing that I absolutely love about the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler is that it comes with a cover – so the bristles are protected at all times. It won’t snag on anything else inside your bag and you wont have to worry that the bristles will break easily or cause damage (ie scratches) to your other stuff. And of course, the way it is shaped (like a bean), it makes it easier to grip. It was actually ergonomically designed to fit perfectly in our hands. No wonder it’s the UK’s must have detangling brush! Awesome job, Mr. Shaun Pulfrey, awesome job!

The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is a little bulky – but that’s something I am willing to overlook because this little bean thing works so well. Love love love!

I know I’ve said this multiple times in this post but I really love my Tangle Teezer Compact Styler. It’s cute, interesting and most of all, it works really really well. I’ve never been this crazy about a hair brush before. Tangle Teezer, you are totes amaze.
