While I don’t really follow any beauty rules – I feel like make up should be an expression of who you are, and there are no rules for that – there is one that I follow no matter what and that is to never sleep without removing my make up. No matter how tired or sleepy (or drunk hahaha) I am, I always always make sure I remove my make up and wash my face before the I head to bed. Not gonna lie though, sometimes it is such a chore especially if you’ve been stuck in traffic for hours after a long long day a work or – and this is a more fun reason – you’ve had a crazy night with your friends, and you had one too many drinks. That’s why I find make up remover wipes so handy! Don’t get me wrong, I still think cleansing your face is a better option than using a make up remover wipe but for days when you just can’t deal, these are heaven-sent. You use two, maybe three towelettes and *poof*, all traces of make up are gone.
I’ve tried many brands of make up remover wipes – from affordable to more pricey options – but no other brand comes close to my all-time favorite Purederm Make Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Very affordable at Php79.75 for 30 sheets and at this price point, I definitely think you get great value for money because it works really well, is easily accessible, and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky or in some cases, too dry because of the alcohol content. Granted, it’s not the thickest or softest I’ve used but it is the most effective I’ve used at a price point I am comfortable with. I normally use one towel to get most of my make up off, and follow it up with another one to remove whatever was left after using the first sheet. I don’t need to use an eye make up remover after even when I use a waterproof liner or mascara, which is great since I recently ran out of my favorite one from Lancome – I am a cheapskate and don’t want to get another one if I can avoid it LOL.
I have been using these for about two, maybe three years now both for my personal use and for my make up clients. They first came out with two variants – Argan and Collagen. The Argan variant used to be my favorite, but now that they added to their roster and came out with the Vitamin and Q10 variants, I think my new favorite is the Q10. All variants work well – just that I think the Q10 benefits are more apt for my skin type. These are scented, but the scent is nice and to me is fairly soft so I think even those with sensitive noses won’t mind.
You can get these at any Watson’s store, and I also saw it at my local SM Hypermarket although they jacked up the price to Php89.75. Oh and if you are lucky, sometimes these go on sale. A few months ago, Watson’s had these on sale for Php50 per pack (with 2019 expiration dates). You can bet I hoarded – I got 10 LOL – don’t judge!!! I am sure a lot of beauty-obsessed folks also went HAM on these because I had to go to 3 different Watson’s locations before I could get my hands on them.
If you are on the lookout for good, affordable and reliable make up remover wipes, definitely check these out. I’ve gotten so many of my friends on this and I think a lot of you will like it too!
