Niña’s Picks – March 2015 Favorites

I know I am a little late on this, but do forgive me, I took a bit of a break during the holy week. By the way, how was your Easter Sunday? Mine was spent running errands in the morning (fun, noh?), lunch with my family and a quick coffee run. Not as interesting as yours, I think, but it was good to be able to spend time with the people I love and scratch off a bunch of things from my to-do list.

Anyway, enough of my rambles and justification for my very vanilla life LOL. On to my favourites for the month of March, okay?

EOS Lipbalm in Summer Fruit
I have been quite anxious lately so I have been biting my lips and because of that, my lips are dry and chapped. I’ve needed to wear lip balm more often to ensure that my lips stay hydrated and presentable and I find that this is one of the few lip balms that I love. It’s moisturising, it smells good and tastes good too!

As I mentioned, my lips have been needing more TLC so I’ve been avoiding lip products that are drying and using more moisturising products. I love wearing red lipstick but my favourite red lipstick is a bit drying so this is a pretty awesome alternative. It’s not as opaque as Russian Red, but it gives you a nice, healthy looking deep red. I like the fact that this leaves my lips feeling moisturised without compromising the pigmentation. I can get away with not wearing anything else on my lips except for this one and it would be fine.

Maybelline Mono Eyeshadow in 17 Lovely Plum
Every month, I try to re/discover things in my stash and this is one of those things that have been hiding away in my traincase. I’ve been wearing this a lot and I like that it gives me the perfect “I am a good girl” look LMAO. No seriously, its nice to wear on its own, with a it of black liner or along with bronzer on the brow bone. It looks a little scary on the pan – the combination of mauve-pink-plum has never been my favourite – but this I quite like.

Ahhh Landmark has the best “I don’t need it but I want it” selection. I got this on one of my visits and it’s become a staple in my make up routine. This applies my mineral foundation flawlessly and blends it in really well. I wish it was a little softer but hey, for a brush that cost me less than PHP150.00 (approx $4), its pretty good!

Do you have days when you are too lazy to wash your face to remove your make up? I do and these Collagen Cleansing Towelettes are pretty amazing at removing every bit of gunk from your face. It smells great, and the actual tissue is soft and can withstand the dragging and rubbing and pulling. It’s gentle and leaves my skin feeling supple.

Avon Anew Clinical Eye Lift Pro Eye Cream
Eyebags, the bane of my existence. I have the most ridiculous eye bags in the world – not only is it dark, its a bit wrinkly too. The last couple of months though, I noticed that the wrinkling has become worse and because I have been a bit stressed, the circles have gone darker. Thank the Universe that my Aunt decided to become an Avon lady. When I saw that this product, I immediately asked her to order it for me. I’ve been using this for about a month now and I’ve seen a significant difference! The skin is smoother, the dark circles have lightened a little bit and the dark area has gotten smaller. This has worked wonders for my eye bags – even better than the more expensive product I used in the past. Yay for great value!

Double-sided Mirror from Thailand
I found this in my cabinet of goodies about a month ago as I was cleaning up. It brought back so many memories of my first trip abroad. (Hi B!!!) Not too much to say about it except that this has become a staple in my everyday make up kit.

CLN Make Up Pouch
I received a black make up pouch from my little sister last Christmas and have been using it but it’s a tad bit small. When I saw this at CLN, I grabbed it and proceeded to the counter. I love the shape and the fact that it can hold so so many things. I can fit my entire to-go make up kit, my Tangle Teezer, a wet hair comb, my perfume, tissue, cleaning wipes, a pack of Tic Tacs and still have space to spare!!! I really like the colour too – its not the typical black or pink. Best PHP249.00 (approx $6) I’ve ever spent on a pouch LMAO!

Can’t believe that it’s April already – time goes by so fast! It feels like it was just the new year and now we are in the 4th month of 2015! Where does the time go, really?
