Niña’s Picks: Love Month Favorites

For the last couple of months, I have been trying to rotate the things I use regularly so I can discover new treasures, rediscover old wow products and figure out which duds to avoid in the future. This is a bit of a challenge for me because I can be quite the creature of habit. Once I find something that works, or something that I like, then I just stick to it – but I have been trying to diversify a little bit.

For this year’s love month, I decided I wanted to try more things from my stash that I liked, but have not used for a while. With the exception of the candle, the palette and the lipstick, these are all “old” products that have been kept hidden away in my cabinet.

Let’s get on with it, shall we?

Hanskin Super Solution BB Cream

I first discovered this BB Cream when my sister brought a few home for me from one of her trips to Korea. I finished a bottle, I liked it a lot, but got distracted with other options. Then as I was cleaning my stash a few weeks ago, I saw another brand-spanking-new tube that I kept as a back up and I’ve been using it since. I really like the coverage and the finish of this so if you ever find this somewhere (because it’s so hard to find here in the PH) do give it a try!

Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Powder

A product that was sent to me a while back, I liked the finish this gives but the color was just off. It didnt blend well with my skin. I dont know what happened between then and now (although I think a huge part of it is because of the brush I use now) but this is now perfect for me! It gives me a smooth, flawless finish with a bit of glow to it that I love.

Wet N Wild Eyeshadow in Nutty

One of my resolutions is to start wearing eyeshadows more. This has become my go-to color. It’s just quick and easy – the color is beautiful and it’s the kind of color that you can wear day or night. The formulation is silky and it blends like a dream too.

Revlon Laccquer Balm in Demure

After the last couple of years of me wearing red, plum or some other in-your-face lip color, I have become a huge fan of more natural looking colors. This has become one of my on-the-go make up touch up kit stapes – the formula is creamy and the color is beautiful.

Blush

I dont remember where I got this from (it’s definitely a department store brand though) but this has been my go-to blusher for the month of February. I dont know what it is about it but it just makes you look more fresh and awake – like you were able to sleep for 8 hours, even though in reality you barely slept LOL.

Beauty Cosmetics Blending Sponge

My foundation brushes have taken a back seat to this thing. It’s easy to use and blends products easily. Can be used with foundation, concealers and craem products – I love multipurpose tools. Best thing about it is it’s easy to clean!

Wild Peach Small Palette

I didnt expect too much from this palette when I bought it since it’s about half the price of the Z Palette but it’s surprisily sturdy and well made! I am glad I found Wild Peach online – I also got the large version of this and I will definitely buy more for sure. I have since depotted my MAC eyeshadows onto my leopard print palette and it’s saved me a whole lotta space.

Evian Face Mist

Ahhh, the perfect skin pick-me-upper. I remember back in high school, I would envy the girls who had Evian face mists because no matter how hard I try to beg, my mum just never gave in to buying me one – and at almost 300pesos per canister, I couldn’t afford it with my baon. LOL.! Anyway, I spritz this before doing my make up, use it to wet my eyeshadows if I wanted to and set my make up – and it works wonders! No more powdery cake-faces!

White Tea and Ginger Candle

The only non-beauty related thing on here. The smell is very familiar and whenever I catch a whiff of this I smile – so I may have some good memory attached to this scent,I just can’t pinpoint it right now. To be honest, it’s not as fragranced as some of my other candles are and it doesnt have a bottle which is kind of a downer but the fact that the scent makes me smile whenever I smell it is a good enough reason for it to be included in this month’s favorites. I dont remember the brand, but you can find it at the SM Department Store.

Have you tried any of my February picks? Or maybe one of them has been on your radar for a while? I would love to hear your thoughts!
