These days, when asked what my favorite color is, I would always answer Black – but once upon a time, my favorite color was Orange. I remember back in grade school/high school, my online screen name was babyorange. HAHAHAHA euw, I know, but I was obsessed with the color orange. At some point in time, I had an orange Nike backpack, an orange Kipling cross-body bag, an orange bayong bag, orange file case and orange sneakers. Ha ha ha – orange overload!
As far as beauty is concerned though, I am not a big orange girl. I don’t know, I just don’t think it looks as good on me as other colors, that’s why I only have a couple of orange lipsticks and one orange blush. I have tried many orange toned lip products and out of all the ones I’ve tried, these are the only ones that made the cut.
My first orange lipstick was Morange from MAC. I don’t remember who inspired me to get an orange lipstick, but I remember it was during the summertime. I wanted to get one that’s very opaque but easy to wear, so off to MAC I went. After having a major swatch-fest, I ended up falling in love and walking away with Morange. It is a true orange, and I like how it can instantly brighten up your look. I also like mixing this shade with Chatterbox (also from MAC) to create the perfect coral lip.
The next orange lipstick I bought was from Revlon around April of last year. I wanted an orange lipstick that was easy to wear and not as in your face as Morange and Revlon had a sale on the Lacquer balms so I decided to pick up Tease. It’s a pretty muted orange, but I have to admit that this is my least favorite among the three.
A few months later, I saw that Revlon had a sale again, this time on their Balm Stains. I originally didn’t plan on getting this shade, but as soon as I swatched the shade Rendezvous, I knew I had to get it. It’s smooth and easy to wear; great to wear for everyday. I also like the tint it leaves on the lips. I much prefer this over the Lacquer Balms.
So these are the only orange lip products in my kit. I want to get an orange-red like MAC’s Lady Danger, but summer is almost over (I HOPE, because it’s crazy hot in Manila) so perhaps I’ll get it next summer!
