Last month, a friend of mine from High School got married. Most of our friends are overseas now and not a lot of us still here in the Philippines are able to get together regularly, unfortunately, so I was looking forward to the event to not only celebrate Steph and Gina’s love, but to see some of my friends as well.
The event called for formal clothing and if you know me, I pretty much take every opportunity I can to dress up. I have always loved the “getting ready” process – sometimes even more than the actual event. I remember back in High School and in College, my friends and I would get together in someone’s house and prep together. I have a lot of fond memories of my friends and I getting ready to either go out or to attend a school event. Those were fuuuuun times. Riotous but fun. LOL.
Anyway, back to the event. The wedding was set at 2PM, so I was debating on what to do for my eyes. I figured since the wedding was at 2, and the reception would be well into the night, I can get away with a smokey eye. I was wearing a pretty orange dress that I wanted to toughen up a bit and a smokey eye seemed to be the best way to go. I used brown as my base because I didn’t want my make up to clash with my dress. I used my trusty Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, and finished it off by lining my eyes with Maybelline’s Gel Liner (black) and applying my favorite Shawill Curling Mascara. I skipped the false lashes. For my lips, I used MAC Chatterbox. As for my hair, I didn’t do much, just air dried and brushed.
As I was doing my make up, I realized that Chatterbox has become my go to lipstick for when I want to look sophisticated and fresh or for when I want to tone down a bold smokey eye. Come to think of it, whenever I wear it I always get compliments so if you are ever in the market for a good pink lipstick, give Chatterbox a try. 🙂
Here’s a photo of my friends and I. Hi girls! I also did J’s hair and make up (third from left) for this event so stay tuned for that post!
I know I havent been posting lately, no excuses except for the fact that life took over. I missed blogging and hopefully I can post more frequently from here on out.
