Favorite Beauty Looks from the Met Gala 2016 | www.NinaSinganon.com

It was the Met Gala a few days ago, and this year’s theme is Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. I was watching the Vogue and Allure red carpet snaps in real time and it was amazing – so many beautiful pieces – from Chanel, Altuzzara, Dolce & Gabbana, Marchesa, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Balmain… I liked so many of the red carpet gowns but my favourites would have to be Poppy Delevingne (Marchesa), Alexa Chung (Thakoon), Kate Hudson (Atelier Versace), Kate Bosworth (Dolce and Gabbana) and Nicole Kidman (Alexander McQueen). They all looked stunning!

Anyway, other than the gowns, I was closely looking at the beauty looks and I obviously had to pick a few of my favorites. I tried to whittle it down to 5 – but it was so darn hard so I picked 7 instead ha ha ha! On to the good stuff!

Taylor Swift Met Gala 2016

Taylor Swift
Taylor looked so beautiful with her messy hair, minimal eye make up, a bit of bronzer and very dark lip! A little edgier than what she would usually go for, and I am actually loving it! I am tempted to cut my hair again after seeing her at the Met gala ha ha!

Elle Fanning Met Gala 2016

Elle Fanning
Ooh that ponytail! I love that Elle Fanning went with something very simple and sleep for her hair and matched it with barely there make up. Her Met look just seemed effortless and natural and I loved it!

Kylie Jenner Met Gala 2016

Kylie Jenner
Kylie’s make up is always on point and her make up at the Met was no exception. The reason why I liked her beauty look so much is because it was just right – not too much – you know what I mean? She had an air of sophistication that was refreshing to see.

Kirsten Stewart Met Gala 2016

Kirsten Stewart
I know you’re questioning my judgement right now but hear me out! Granted, I wouldn’t wear Kirsten’s make up on a night out (or anywhere, for that matter unless it’s a fancy dress/costume party) but I loved that she went with something unusual and fun. To me, that’s one of the wonders of make up – you can have fun with it!

Amber Heard Met Gala 2016

Amber Heard
Sultry is the word that comes to mind when I see photos of Amber Heard at the gala. Her make up wasn’t over the top, and her berry stained lips – ugh – just beautiful! And don’t get me started on her effortlessly sexy hair… just wow!

Kate Bosworth Met Gala 2016

Kate Bosworth
I absolutely loved Kate Bosworth’s entire look! She picked the most awesome hair accessories and her matte red lips just pulled everything together. What a beaut!!!

Poppy Delevigne Met Gala 2016

Poppy Delevingne
Poppy Delevingne has to be my favourite of the night! From her beautiful gown to her carefully selected accessories, to her long and sleek straight blonde hair, her full fluttery lashes and her dark berry lip –  she was an absolute knockout! Everything just came together perfectly!

The Met never disappoints – it’s definitely one of the red carpet events that I always look forward to! There were so many amazing beauty looks and it’s interesting to see how the runway trends translated into real life. Obviously, the dark lip is here to stay, and so are bob hair cuts and sleek hair styles. Healthy-looking skin is still in and the glow – the glow is not going anywhere anytime soon!
