I had the pleasure of doing the hair and make up for bride Rhea a few days ago in the beautiful island of Batanes. It was quite a trip – the couple arranged a tour of the island as a welcome gift and dinner at the lighthouse! I didn’t realize that the weather in Batanes is so different from the weather in Manila that I didn’t pack anything suitable for the very cold weather! #ResearchFail ha ha ha!
I don’t have any photos yet – but here is the SDE of the wedding. The beautifully shot video is by Marvin Barbarona. He and his team are amazing and very professional! Check him out if you need videography services.
The bride was very easy to work with – when we discussed her wedding and party look, she said I can work my “magic” however I wanted but she wanted it to be simple and elegant, coupled with a romantic loose up-do for the ceremony and loose curls with a floral crown for the party. The couple had a late morning ceremony, so we started bright and early at 5AM! The bride was busy preparing her vows while I was working on her, so she didn’t see the final look until after I was done. Her initial reaction was funny “OMG Nina, I love you!” I think that is the best reaction you can get as an artist – knowing that they like the look so much, they exclaim that they love you! Ha ha ha!
Rhea also wrote me a very sweet and very touching note – I am going to be honest that I teared up a little bit when I read it!
I always enjoy doing the hair and make up – be it events, shoots or parties – but it always warms my heart when brides book me for their special day. To be a part of their very special once in a lifetime event is truly an honor! Thank you so much Ingo and Rhea and I wish you all the best!
